Job Details:
Handyman/Woman – £10.42/hour – £11.75/hour – Boroughbridge – Full Time – Permanent – Contributory Pension Scheme – Onsite Parking – 22 days holiday plus the bank holidays, (rising to 25) with the option to purchase an extra week.

Job Description:
Reporting into the Factory Supervisor, the main purpose of the Handyman/Woman is varied and involves working across several departments, including:

Production
• To produce goods in line with customer specification.
• Operate all production equipment in line with training and company procedures as directed by the Factory Supervisor.
• Assemble products as required.
Warehouse
• Packing products ready for dispatch.
• Pick fixings, cut angles and posts and pack from picking lists.
• Unload and check incoming deliveries and process paperwork.
• Sort and store incoming materials appropriately in a timely manner.
• Loads outgoing goods
• Day to day maintenance of production equipment and company vehicles.
• Ensure the safe removal of waste.
• Keep the factory, warehouse and outside space in a tidy and safe state of operation.
• Delivery and collection of goods as and when required.
Installation
• On odd occasions and where needed, assist the installations team on jobs – this could include a night away.

Person Specification:
The ideal Handyman/Woman will ideally:

• Have experience in a similar position – experience in wood-based panel production/basic joinery/furniture assembly/using wood processing machinery/tools would be ideal, full training provided.
• Have working level IT skills, for inputting data into a computer.
• Hold a full driving licence and own transport, due to the location of the client.

Forklift Licence desirable.

You will have excellent communication and time management skills, be able to work as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative and be reliable.
